Nicola, you were the person I looked up to and aspired to be. We were so similar but yet so different. I don’t think I could have been as brave or as strong as you have been over the last few years, I am in awe of your resilience and courage. There are so many memories… I remember sitting in your room (probably driving you crazy) when you were getting ready to go out with your college friends. I was always desperate to come out with you all. Although there was an age gap between us you always made the effort to do things with me. You took me to my first concert, when you were at university in Newcastle (I think this is when your love of Ant and Dec first started). When the time came for me to go to university I can remember choosing Manchester, thinking you would be close by and would look after me if I didn’t like being away from home. It didn’t quite go to plan as you moved to Nottingham not long after I started. You did however always look out for me. We have had so many days out, nights out, holidays, weddings, babies and adventures. Those memories will live on forever. We always knew tomorrow wasn’t promised and you made the most of every moment. You achieved so much, visited so many places and enjoyed life to the full. You certainly did it all and I am so proud of you. Love you forever Cheryl xx

Nicola, who we were proud to call our much loved daughter-in-law, so brave and courageous. A wonderful wife to our son Jon, a fantastic mother to Thomas & Charlotte. Memories of all the happy family times we had together will never be forgotten and will remain in our hearts forever.

When I think about Nicola, despite the sadness you feel, you can’t help but smile. She was that person who would always put a positive spin on everything, the most courageous, fun loving, kindest soul. I had the pleasure of Nicola becoming my friend through work nearly two decades ago, and then after weddings and babies – our lives would coincide in so many more ways. We use to meet up regularly at Bluewater for some childfree time, always finish up with a nice catch up over dinner, and a cheeky glass of wine. Those 3 or 4 hours we had would fly by – reminiscing about work, laughing about our kids, and crying about life circumstances. Nicola – I will miss you more than I can express in words. You were an amazing Mum, wife, work colleague - but to me you were the sweetest, most thoughtful friend who I will miss immensely. One of life’s treasures.

So many happy times back in the day, following our introduction via Victoria (I’m thinking 1992). You were always up for the party, the laughs and the daft ness. Such a kind, fun loving, happy lass. Although we weren’t in touch so much recently, I know you have continued to be kind, fun, strong, resilient, loved wife, Mum, daughter, sister and friend. You were amazing Nicola and you will live in hearts forever. Xxx

I remember meeting Nicola for the first time in 2008, which seems like a lifetime ago. We shared many happy care- free times of nights out and adventures. Our boyfriends were best friends so we spent a lot of time together. As time progressed, boyfriends turned to husbands and we began to develop a friendship away from the men! Hen do’s, weddings and fun night outs, some of my best memories. Next came having babies and family time. Every Monday, we would sit in dusty church halls and share tips and advice. That is when we really became firm friends and really got to know each other. Above all, Nicola was the most amazing Mum. As our kids grew up, we would spend time together as families. As I have gone through photos of the last decade, most seem to be of our kids and not as us all, I wish I had taken more. Recently , times have been tough, but at every kids birthday, every celebration, the first card to arrive has always been from Nicola. Always thinking of others and celebrating others even when having to deal with so much. We will miss you so much Nicola xx

Brave, funny, caring & sassy - you were inspirational. We started out as drinking buddies back in 1999 and an amazing friendship grew from there with plenty of adventures and memories.
